I was born in Oaxaca. I grew up on the same mountains where the Zapotecs                                          have lived for more than four thousand years, in Monte Albán. I lived in                                          Tamazulapan (Site of frogs), in the Upper Mixtec Region for nine years,                                          among palm leaf weavers and one- thousand-colored mountains.

A few  years ago, I decided to communicate with my ancestors through                                          ceramics, and there were messages. An old woman, in a dream, took my hands and she said: “let me teach you.” An old man took me to the site of the eldest  kiln; there I learned that kilns are graves where the spirits of ceramists, healers, musicians and story tellers live; there, I could “see” the wind dance.

The ceramic I share, is not only made by my hands and my spirit. It is also given birth by our Mother Earth. She sings songs like rivers and trees. I use the most simple technique, pinching and coiling, low fire clay for Raku, and high fire for other pieces. I become passionate exploring textures, therefore most of the pieces are not glazed on the exterior; they remain naked, like wild clay. The pieces talk, sing, tell stories, confront fragilities, and celebrate life. They are not born out of projects. They are born out of loving prayers.... of peaceful, generous dances.
